Dave Gowers Engineering is actively involved with framing design for light commercial and residential projects, including log homes (opens browser window). While many residential structural systems can be designed to comply with prescriptive, code-defined design parameters, when a particular structural element is outside the scope of prescriptive design, that element will require project-specific engineering. While we are pleased to provide design services for a project in its entirety, a server we are frequently called upon to provide is to evaluate, design and certify the design of these individual structural members within the over structural system.

We've found this targeted design service is particularly beneficial to custom home designers and architects, as the additional design costs, beyond those incurred by the in-house design team, are minimal.
